Jellybeans used for the activity were either Jellybelly or Harry Potter Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean.

The table is arranged to have the good tasting prey that look like the bad
tasting prey (mimic) next to each other,
i.e. Cherry and Cinnamon are both red. Minicry was introduced after the activity
was completed.
One of each type of jelly bean per student was used for the activity. If 30
students are to participate in the activity
then 30 of each type of jellybean was presented at the beginning of the activity.
At the end of the activity, the total number each type of jellybean left was
counted. Toxic prey were determined and
mimicry was discussed. Examples of mimicry were introduced as it is seen in
nature: Monarch and Viceroy butterflies and
Coral and King snakes.
